When my son was 5, a parent of a classmate recommended a karate class at a local area school, Lil' Dragons at Team Karate Centers. Their child suffered apraxia of speech and the class had boosted his confidence and ability to speak both with and in front of other children. My son was also dealing with a speech delay, so I was excited to give it a try. I fell in LOVE with the program. Watching the fun my son had with the other students, his confidence growing by both participating and LEADING activities, was thrilling. After a while, I started assisting with classes myself and, when the opportunity arose, took over the program.

One of my favorite parts of Team Karate Studios is the community it has created. You are surrounded by so many families, both parents and children alike, that take classes. There is a history of entire families achieving black belt together. Team Karate Centers is more than just martial arts. It is a wonderful place of fellowship and support. I love playing a part.

I am thrilled to share with other families what changed my son’s life, and my own.
